Miss Ruth Thompson was born in London, England. July, 2011 marked her 19th
anniversary of arriving in America. For many years, Miss Ruth Thompson has been an
accomplished singer, poet and author.
Miss Thompson’s creativity and gift for dynamic storytelling has found expression through her work with pre-schoolers in the Head Start Program. During her CDA (Child Development Associate) training, Miss Ruth Thompson was given a creative writing assignment that led to the birth of My Five Senses.
My Five Senses has been much loved and enjoyed by pre-schoolers, who have invariably burst out with shouts of, “Read it again!” time after time.
Because of her delightful, English accent and love of children, at school, Miss Thompson has been given the beloved nickname of “Mary Poppins.” As Julie Andrews is loved for her role as Mary Poppins in the sixties, Miss Ruth Thompson will no doubt take her place as a much loved, current, British-born author on this side of The Pond.
